While talking with Jinxed Karma recently, the name AMXScott came up. I mentioned that I really wanted to interview him sometime. Well, our paths crossed, and we had a great talk. Scott is one of There’s premiere collectors. While he started with buggies, he has also has collections of hoverboats, paintings, and even houses. He’s one of the few people who owns one of Carcus’ fabulous Psycho-Houses. He began his collecting back
about two years ago with the first limited edition ZMW I asked Scott what he looks for in a collectable buggy. He replied that he prefers buggies that are more realistic in appearance, preferably with stripes and other high performance type graphics. While he does own a few more cartoon type buggies, those are not ones he generally buys. He also told me that he looks for limited editions. About 90% of his collection is of limited edition buggies that are out of production.
Other buggies are collected for sentimental reasons. Scott still has the first buggy he ever bought, and a copy of the first buggy he was loaned as a newbie. It was the J Black Flame Buggy by Jade. Scott says: “I just kept looking, and I finally found one a year ago.” This was a limited edition with only 7 copies made, and the design is about 3 years old. It wasn’t something that was likely to pop up in auctions on a regular basis. I asked Scott which five of his collection were his favorites. He put them out for me: The JND Avante HS Pacer Prototype was never sold in auctions. Jinxed found a flaw in it, and never released it. Scott finally got Jinxed to let him have one. The ZMW AMX Sportster. This
buggy was created from a photo of his own AMX The ZMW GT350 White. This was the first limited edition produced by ZMW. It was limited to 5 copies. As of right now, only 4 are accounted for as being currently in world. The ZMW GT 350 MK II (Blue) Scott just loves the deep blue color on this one as people who owns a complete collection of GT 350 buggies. The last is, of course, his one seater. Scott also runs the Gondor Fun Zone, and supports his hosts there with grants, and loans of setups for everything from buggy shows, to hoverboard events to Holy Macaroni! He’s always looking for new and creative people to help make There a better place for all of us. |
